San Francisco - Southeast District Real Estate & Homes for Sale in California

San Francisco - Southeast District Real Estate & Homes for Sale in California

San Francisco is a city of unique neighborhoods each with its own architecture, history and personality. The neighborhoods in the Southeast District offer the same cultural diversity, winning attractions, outstanding schools and breathtaking views of the city itself, but also some of the most affordable housing in all of San Francisco. The Bayshore area is located in the Southeast District amidst a dynamic topography and rich cultural history. Bayshore neighborhoods include Bayview, Bayview Heights, Hunter’s Point, Silver Terrace, Portola and Visitacíon Valley. Bayview is a working-class community with a mixture of single-family homes, apartments and factories. Home to the historic San Francisco Opera House and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Bayview features hillsides and winding streets, Victorian homes and 3Com (Candlestick) Park. Hunter’s Point is on a long promontory extending eastward into San Francisco Bay. Modern condominiums and townhouses have been built there and several properties were renovated into artist’s studios. “The Point” hosts “Open Studios” twice a year, where more than 250 artists show their work, and is home to the Golden Gate Railroad Museum. Portola, or “University Mound,” is a young neighborhood of working professionals with a mix of real estate that includes single-family homes and townhouses. Both Portola and Visitacíon Valley are two of the city’s most affordable neighborhoods. Visitacíon Valley is home to a diverse, young, low-income, largely Chinese American population. Single-family, one-story homes and townhouses are popular here. Outer Mission, Mission Terrace, Crocker Amazon and Excelsior are also neighborhoods in the Southeast District. Outer Mission is culturally diverse with traditional single-family homes. Crocker Amazon is predominantly a middle-class community with beautifully landscaped and manicured front yards. Older, single-family homes made with stucco and wood frame are featured in Excelsior.
